Introduction
Torpedo cars transport hot metal from blast furnaces to steelmaking shops, with linings subjected to severe thermal shock, slag corrosion and mechanical erosion. These Al₂O₃-SiC-C bricks are formulated for different wear zones: impact zone bricks resist falling iron impact; pool (iron line) bricks withstand molten iron erosion; slag line bricks resist chemical attack from aggressive slags.
